What are we doing?
Ecological awareness is part of daily life at Château Teynac and Château Corconnac. As such, the two Châteaux have been involved in the SME process since 2015 and are members of the Bordeaux wine SME association, certified ISO 14001.
What is the SME?
Launched in 2010, the SME is a collective environmental approach for an entire territory, based on volunteering. It Helps preserve the environment by improving the management of the vineyard while keeping company life, employee safety and societal expectations at the center of concerns.
This approach allowed us to achieve double certification:
1. ISO 14001
2. HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale)
ISO certification takes into account the company’s overall impact on the environment. It covers environmental management (i.e. how a company manages the environmental impact of its activities), how it assesses the impact and finally how it reduces the impact. This standard requires compliance with the principle of continuous environmental performance improvement.
The HVE (Haute Valeur Environnementale) certification was obtained starting from the 2016 millesime. Renewed every year, the HVE revolves around sound environmental agricultural practices. This is the highest level of environmental certification in France, based on outcome indicators relating to biodiversity, phytosanitary strategy and fertilisation management.
This commitment and these certifications by independent organizations certify our strong motivation and excellence in environmental matters.
